  3. 3
Grind coffee beans to a very coarse consistency - similar to breadcrumbs. This prevents over-extraction during the long steeping time.
  4. 4
Step 2: Combine Coffee and Water
  5. 5
Add ground coffee to French press, then pour cold filtered water over the grounds. Stir gently to ensure all grounds are saturated.
  6. 6
    Step 3: Initial Steep
  7. 7
Place the plunger on top but do not press down. Let the coffee steep at room temperature for 12-24 hours, or refrigerate for a milder brew.
  8. 8
    Step 4: Press and Strain
  9. 9
After steeping, slowly press the plunger down to separate the grounds from the coffee concentrate. Press gently to avoid bitter extraction.
  10. 10
    Step 5: Serve and Store
  11. 11
Serve over ice, dilute with water or milk to taste. Cold brew concentrate can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
